I have witnessed an interesting encounter of Aven and a coyote 6/24/09 c. 4 pm at PERT car park. PERT guys have seen Aven near the main car park all the time. The reason is that it has a fawn hidden in the tall grass in the field opposite the car park. At c. 16 pm I was alerted by alarm calls of the turkey and by stubborness of Aven who was reluctant to leave her spot by the paved road. I made some clinging noise with antenna and stood quetly in the car park. Sure enough a cayote sneaked out of the field and went away into the woods. Aven after waiting for few seconds rushed into the field ignoring me.
